Ugh this Weather!

ImageHave you ever wondered why you have to keep your winter coat out and your sandals out at the same time? Clearly because its that Michigan Weather. According to NOAA scientists, 2011 was a record breaking year for climate extremes. The National Climatic Data Center, reports that the average temperature for the U.S. was 53.8 degrees f making it the 23rd warmest year on record. It sucks that we cant decide on what to wear in this weather. But this should open up a more serious matter. And show us how the earth is changing right before our eyes.

According to climate models, global warming could change our current world climate zones, which would affect where crops are grown and even drive some plant and animal species to extinction all in the next 100 years. A warmer earth may lead to changes in rainfall patterns and a rise of sea level. So as you can tell our society has alot to think about when it comes to protecting our environment.

But when somebody says, “Whats going on with this weather?” I just say, “Dude its Michigan..”

  1. This is an interesting article. I would like to know which animals may become extinct in the next 100 years and how would the earth look in 100 years. This article makes you want to think of ways to reduce global warming to try and prevent this from happening. Michigan’s weather is very unpredictable. One week it could be 80 degrees and the next week it could snow. So you are right! You need to keep the coats and sandals near by when living in Michigan.
